FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

DISCUSSION:   FAIR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WERE OBSERVED ACROSS THE LEEWARD AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS THIS MORNING. HOWEVER, NEVIS REPORTED BUILD-UPS LIKELY ASSOCIATED WITH LOCALIZED CONVERGENCE. MODERATE TO FRESH WINDS CONTINUED TO PUSH PATCHES OF LOW-LEVEL CLOUDS ACROSS THE AREA AS REFLECTED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY. WHILE RADAR IMAGERY INDICATED LIGHT SPOTTY SHOWERS. THE TOTAL PRECIPITABLE WATER PRODUCT ALSO SHOWED A REDUCTION IN MOISTURE CONTENT, CONSISTENT WITH THE INFLUENCE OF THE DOMINANT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE AREA.

LOOKING AHEAD FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS, THE RIDGE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN THE PREVAILING FEATURE. WITH LIMITED AVAILABLE MOISTURE AND A STEADY WIND FLOW, ONLY BRIEF PASSING SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED AS SHALLOW PATCHES MOVE THROUGH. THIS IS IN GENERAL ALIGNMENT WITH THE CURRENT FORECST AND AS SUCH, NO CHANGES ARE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME.
