FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

DISCUSSION:   A CONTINUED INFLUX OF SAHARAN DUST ACROSS THE REGION CONTINUES TO KEEP A RESTRICTION ON SHOWER ACTIVITY AND ALSO IS MAINTAINING A HAZY ENVIRONMENT ACROSS THE ISLANDS. SATELLITE AND RADAR IMAGERY ARE RESPECTIVELY HIGHLIGHTING JUST A FEW CLOUDS AND VIRTUALLY NO SHOWERS IN THE VICINITY OF THE ISLANDS. THE FORECAST MODELS ARE CONSISTENT IN PROJECTING LOW MOISTURE AND THE SAHARAN DUST PERSISTING ACROSS THE REGION FOR THE REMAINDER OF TODAY AND TOMORROW. THEREFORE, THE CHANCES OF SHOWERS FOR THE MOST WILL BE JUST AROUND 40 PERCENT OR MODERATE; PRETTY MUCH IN LINE WITH THE PREVIOUS FORECAST. A TROPICAL WAVE IS CURRENTLY MOVING IN THE VICINITY OF THE NORTHEAST CARIBBEAN HOWEVER, THE STRONG PRESENCE OF SAHARAN DUST IS PRETTY MUCH CHOKING THE WAVE.
