AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
ISSUED BY ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES

15:05 UTC DECEMBER 10 2024

DISCUSSION:   BRIEF SPELLS OF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS OCCURRED OVER THE COURSE OF THE MORNING AS POCKETS OF MOISTURE MOVED INTO THE AREA ON THE WIND FLOW. RADAR ECHOES DISPLAYED THESE POCKETS MAINLY OVER OPEN WATERS AND IN MANY AREAS THESE POCKETS OF PRECIPITATION DISSIPATED BEFORE REACHING LAND.

OVER THE NEXT TWENTY-FOUR HOURS, RELATIVELY STABLE CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY AS LOW MOISTURE IN THE MID TO LOWER LEVELS RESTRICT SHOWER ACTIVITY. HOWEVER AS THE POCKETS OF MOISTURE IN THE WIND FLOW CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THE FORECAST AREA, OCCASIONAL PERIODS OF CLOUDINESS AND BRIEF SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE. SEAS REMAIN ELEVATED, THEREFORE SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION. THIS IS IN AGREEMENT WITH THE LATEST ISSUED FORECAST THEREFORE NO AMENDMENTS ARE NECESSARY AT THIS TIME.
