FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

DISCUSSION:   A WEAK SHEAR-LINE MOVED OVER THE ISLANDS EARLY THIS MORNING AND THIS FEATURE PROVIDED ONLY LIGHT SHOWERS OVER THE ISLANDS. OVER THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS, THIS FEATURE CONTINUES TO DRIFT TOWARDS THE SOUTH WITH ONLY LIGHT SHOWERS LINGERING ON LATEST RADAR SCOPE.

FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS: A DISTINCT ANTICYCLONE WILL BE MOVING OVER THE ISLANDS. LATEST MODEL DATA SUGGEST THAT ACCOMPANYING THIS FEATURE WILL BE A MARKED REDUCTION IN MOISTURE IN THE MIDST OF ATMOSPHERIC SUBSIDENCE. THIS SCENARIO SUGGESTS LITTLE SHOWER ACTIVITY UNDER MOSTLY FAIR SKIES. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS MONTSERRAT BECAUSE OF THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE MOISTURE BOUNDARY WHICH WILL STALL OVER GUADELOUPE. THIS OUTLOOK IS A REDUCTION FROM THE PREVIOUS FORECAST.
